NFCR in the News: Spotlight on Alcohol & Cancer Continues to Increase

Research has previously identified seven cancers that individuals who drink alcohol regularly are at increased risk of developing. Those cancers include Oral, Throat, Esophageal, Larynx, Breast, Liver, and Colorectal cancers.

New research suggests that alcohol is, in fact, the third leading preventable cause of cancer, behind tobacco and obesity. These findings have led the U.S. Surgeon General to issue updated warnings about alcohol intake and encourage further public education about the dangers.

Mocktails, or mock cocktails, present a healthy alternative to those looking to cut back on or eliminate alcohol from their diet. Check out NFCR’s Holiday Mocktails, featuring cancer-fighting foods, to start your mocktail journey today!
